BMW Charity Pro-Am Announces Five-Year Contract Extension.
BMW Charity Pro-Am will continue to positively impact the Upstate of South Carolina.
Greenville, S.C. Certain to make a measurable economic impact on the Upstate over the next half-decade by fueling the travel and tourism industry as well as generating donation dollars for crucial local charities, today South Carolinas Charities Inc., which operates the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation, announced a five-year contract extension concerning BMW Manufacturing, SYNNEX Corporation and the PGA TOUR.

It was also announced that the tournament will take place later beginning next year: June 3-9, 2019.

With news of the extension also comes an opportunity for expanded worldwide coverage by Golf Channel. Currently broadcasting exclusively from Thornblade Club, live tournament coverage may now be extended to all three tournament courses.

The tournament draws an estimated 40,000 spectators, 20 percent of whom travel from out of town. This influx of guests equals over 3,500 room nights for Greenville-area hotels.

The most recent economic impact study by Clemson University’s International Institute of Tourism Research and Development estimated that the tournament annually generates direct spending of $4.712 million, supports 139 jobs, generates net local government revenues of $541,048, net state government revenues of $868,479, and yields $6.744 million in total output/impact.
