The BMW Charity Pro-Am Announces Special Programming, Partnerships to Celebrate 30 Years of BMW Manufacturing in the Upstate.

Upstate, S.C.  The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX is pleased to announce a series of special events and partnerships surrounding the 2024 tournament taking place June 3-9, 2024.

Tournament officials have shared that the Downtown Spartanburg Concert, hosted by The Johnson Group, will take place on the evening of Thursday, June 6 on Morgan Square.  This event coincides with the opening round of the BMW Charity Pro Am presented by TD SYNNEX. Additionally, the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX will host its annual Friday night concert, this year featuring Steel Toe Stiletto, on the grounds of Hotel Hartness on Friday evening, June 7. This concert will provide the opportunity for members of the community to help celebrate 30 years of BMW Manufacturing in South Carolina with proceeds benefitting South Carolina Charities, Inc.

"As we recognize BMW Manufacturing’s 30th anniversary in the Upstate, this year’s tournament activities will engage the larger community in celebrating this note-worthy milestone while acknowledging BMW’s incredible impact on South Carolina over the years,” said Bob Stegner, president of South Carolina Charities, Inc., the tournament’s non-profit foundation. “In addition to supporting various statewide initiatives over three decades, BMW Manufacturing has served as the title sponsor of the BMW Charity Pro-Am for 24 years, playing a critical role in the tournament’s success including its more than $15 million donated to Upstate charities.”

Hotel Hartness will further enhance the 2024 tournament and anniversary celebration by providing guests with world-class hospitality and amenities with the iconic Hartness Estate as its backdrop.  Partnering with Hotel Hartness also adds a unique element as the Hartness family is recognized for its long history as part of the Upstate’s continued growth and commitment to philanthropy.

"We are humbled to partner with the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX and look forward to delivering an exceptional experience for amateurs, celebrities and tournament visitors,” said Albert Mertz, general manager of Hotel Hartness. “Our partnership underscores a shared and continued commitment to the community, like BMW Manufacturing and TD SYNNEX.”

The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX is also pleased to announce its 2024 featured charities: Folds of Honor, Friends of the Reedy River, Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, The Hispanic Alliance, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, Neighborhood Cancer Connection, PAL: Play. Advocate. Live Well Spartanburg and Upstate Warrior Solution. As part of the tournament’s focus on charitable giving, the community is invited to participate in Birdies for Charity, a program enabling individual donors to make a one-time flat donation or pledge one cent or more per birdie during the tournament.

The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX offers a myriad of ways for members of the community to get involved including through amateur playing spots, volunteer opportunities, and attending as a patron through a range of ticket offerings. Providing a behind-the-ropes experience to one of the Upstate’s most iconic events, official volunteer opportunities range from admissions and caddie services to on-course services and scoring support and are made possible by Pelham Medical Center.

Continuing as the only golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with Korn Ferry Tour professionals in a three-day better-ball competition over two golf courses, 2024 tournament play will take place at Thornblade Club and The Carolina Country Club.
