DEVELOPING TALENT.
Collaboration with universities, technical colleges, research facilities and technology clusters is particularly important to us. We have also developed customised programmes for entry to and promotion within our company and provide a large number of internships for university and college students. Many up-and-coming scientists gain the practical experience they need and write their dissertation at BMW Group Plant Steyr.
Youngstars.
It is also important to us to get children and teenagers interested in technology from an early age. We offer special guided tours for school classes, for example, and host the "HiTec!" event format for school pupils about to make vocational choices. The feedback we receive from 12-14-year-olds indicates that they find the world of BMW fascinating and view the company as an attractive career prospect.
We are currently training around 100 apprentices in technical occupations and are especially pleased that around 20 percent of our apprentices in technical fields are now female.
