• With an investment of 3.3 million euros, BMW SLP expanded its wastewater treatment plant, doubling its capacity to supply treated wastewater, allowing it to be a reference in the use of treated water within the BMW production network Group.
  
  
• The Plant uses only electrical energy generated by renewable sources, which is generated through more than 71,000 m² of solar panels within the Plant land, and also from an external solar park.
  
  
• Additional energy saving measures include plant-wide LED lighting technology and factory smart insight sensors on production lines to measure the energy consumption of devices and equipment.
  
  
• The Plant adopted a policy of completely avoiding the use of landfills since its start of production in 2019. 100% of the waste generated at the Plant is classified to facilitate recycling and avoid negative environmental impacts.
  
  
• The Plant is also exploring ways to use biogas sources obtained from landfill sites, which could potentially be used to power paint curing ovens, as well as kitchens and HVAC systems.
  
  
• Plant San Luis Potosi appreciates the importance of water conservation and is proactive about its water management. 100% of the water from the whole production (services) and the paint shop is treated, and one part is returned to the production process and the other part is used for alternative services such as irrigation and sanitation.

At BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosi we regard education as the engine that drives the development of society. 

We have long supported educational projects such as the delivery of the “BMW Group Library” at the Club de Niños y Niñas from Soledad de Graciano Sanchez center; the Company also opened the “BMW Work and Research Space” in Conalep Villa de Reyes, which has a library, computer area and collaborative spaces. Moreover, our Plant promoted and steered the opening of the "Maker Space," a space equipped with STEM workshops for the benefit of the students at Colonia Juvenil.

Additionally, the Plant supported the expansion efforts of the Club de Niños y Niñas by providing facilities in its Greenfield Offices to open the fourth Club branch in the State of San Luis Potosí that opens its doors to more than 200 children from Villa de Reyes and Villa de Zaragoza, two neighbour communities of San Luis Potosí.
