BMW Group’s MINI Plant in Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production and has a rich history. An Oxford landmark, it opened its doors in 1913, when it was still Bullnose Morris Oxford Factory. The plant has produced several famous car models over the years, including the Morris Minor and the classic Mini, which revolutionized the small car market in 1959.
Here, steel panels from Plant Swindon and engines from Plant Hams Hall come together with parts from all over the world to produce the iconic MINI. It is a leader of technology and sustainability in automotive production. Three models are currently produced at Oxford, MINI Cooper 3-Door and 5-Door, making MINI Plant Oxford the home of MINI Cooper alongside the MINI Cooper Convertible which returned to MINI Plant Oxford in 2024.
