Eisenach, in the German state of Thuringia, holds special importance for the BMW Group, being home to the first ever BMW car factory. The very first model to roll off the production line was the BMW 3/15. After German reunification, the BMW Group returned to Eisenach in 1992, establishing press tool engineering and production here as well as a manufacturing facility for sheet metal body parts.
Since its inception, Eisenach has grown into the BMW Group’s largest tooling facility as well as a key component supplier to its production network.
