San Luis Potosi, June 25th, 2018. On June 24th, the capital of San Luis Potosi hosted the 34th edition of the BMW Maratón Internacional Tangamanga. More than 3,000 spectators, about 7,000 runners from 12 countries, and 1,500 volunteers, met at the capital of the State to transform the city into a gigantic open-air stadium. This race that is already on the international marathon calendar attracted professional runners from all over the world, as well as amateur athletes.
“The enthusiasm in the city of San Luis Potosi for this social event is a key factor for us why we are part of it. Above that it is one of the most important marathons in Mexico. This year, the enthusiasm from the company was more present than ever, with installations and activities for the open public to emphasize the dedication in promoting events that foster local society development. As a title partner, BMW Group used the iconic model BMW i3 as pace car, as well as the BMW 3 Series that will be made in Mexico starting 2019, as ambassadors of the Bavarian company to create an atmosphere of celebration in the streets of San Luis Potosi.

In addition to the enthusiasm of the residents of the city, a group of XX employees from BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosi participated in the race due to the importance of the marathon in the region. Once again the participants and spectators have shown great interest in these type of events that create an environment of lifestyle, sport, wellness and health.
Besides the BMW Maratón Internacional Tangamanga, the company participates in the major international running events such as the BMW Berlin Marathon, the BMW Dallas Marathon, the BMW Oslo Marathon, as well as the Vienna City Marathon and the ones in Tokyo and Shanghai.
