Debrecen. The construction of first buildings of future BMW Group Plant Debrecen, such as central office building and training center will start with the beginning of 2022. After extensive site preparation construction of the onsite infrastructure has been conducted throughout 2021. Activities such as piping for rainwater, water installations energy supply as well as roads and parking lots are ongoing on site. From the middle of the decade vehicles with full electric drives will be running off the production line.

The focus of the BMW Group facility and construction team in 2022 will be the raising of several non-technology buildings especially for planning, qualification, training, human resource as well as management functions. Tender processes for the construction of technology buildings such as press shop, body in white shop, paint shop and assembly will be opened in the next months.

The BMW Group is building its first plant for the Neue Klasse in Debrecen. From the middle of the decade, vehicles with an architecture that is uncompromisingly geared to electric drives will be running off the production line.
